October 1, 2008
The 2008-2009 Toyota Family Friendly Film Series kicks
off on Sunday, October 12 at 1:30 pm with the Claymation
favorite, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were Rabbit.
Kids 12 and under will be admitted free - and the same goes
for subsequent films in the series.
It's hard to know who's more hapless - Wallace, a member
of the supposedly superior Homo sapiens species, or his
faithful dog, Gromit. Steve Box, Nick Park and Bob Baker
- director, writer-director and writer, respectively - have
once more spun a tale of village life that extends far beyond
the village limits in its DreamWorks scope.
Menaced by garden-chomping rabbits, our heroes go to work,
work being their pest-control business, Anti-Pesto. Events
- and malevolent humans - conspire to derail their efforts.
In the end, Good triumphs over Weasel and everyone will
go home from the theater feeling groovy. Unless they eat
too many treats from the concession stand - but that just
isn’t possible.
For more of that great kids-12-and-under-free action, please
come to the next film in our Toyota Family Friendly Film
Series on Friday, Nov. 28 - Willy Wonka and the Chocolate
Factory.
Admission for family members older than 12 years is $9.00,
$7.00 for students, seniors and US veterans, $6.50 for Michigan
Theater members. All shows take place at the historic Michigan
Theater, 603 E. Liberty Street, across from Borders Books
and Music in downtown Ann Arbor
Please visit the Michigan Theater web site for more information
and a complete schedule with show times: http://michtheater.org.
