Since its incarnation in 2004, ann arbor's 107one has aired
hundreds of outstanding local performances by many acclaimed
artists. Studio A2 and Studio A2 On The Road have become
known as the source for live quality music on the FM dial
in Ann Arbor.
ann arbor's 107one announces the release of the first Live
From Studio A2 benefit CD. The new disc contains 16 live
tracks from KT Tunstall, Newton Faulkner, BoDeans, Sara
Bareilles, John Butler Trio, Ingrid Michaelson, Steve Earle,
Matt Costa, Patti Griffin, Brian Vander Ark, Bruce Cockburn,
Amos Lee, Brandi Carlile, Proclaimers, Martin Sexton and
Matt Nathanson.
The station reviewed hundreds of recordings, selected the
best of the best and re-mastered each track for the project.
Every performance on the disc was recorded in Ann Arbor
at Studio A2 and various Studio A2 On The Road events.
The project is sponsored by Bank of Ann Arbor, Sesi Motors
and The Courtyards.
On Tuesday, Oct. 21, morning host Martin Bandyke will broadcast
live from Borders Books and Music on Liberty Street from
6 am to 10 am. Borders will open its doors an hour early
at 8 am for the CD release. Michigan Theater Executive
Director Russ Collins will be on the air as Martin's
guest host from 6 am to 8 am that day.
Proceeds from this disc will benefit The Michigan Theater
Foundation, a not-for-profit organization whose mission
is to operate, preserve and maintain Ann Arbor's historic
Michigan Theater for the benefit of the community and the
arts. Established to save the theater from demolition in
1979, the foundation works every day to raise the considerable
funds needed to maintain the theater and its programs.
Live From Studio A2, Volume One to benefit the Michigan
Theater will be available on Tuesday, October 21 exclusively
at Borders in Ann Arbor, Brighton, Canton, Farmington Hills
and Novi as well as select major markets.
